The Heights is hot, hot, hot! Right on the heels of the recent opening of Heights Mercantile comes the announcement of yet another brand-new restaurant/retail development, this one just five blocks – an easy 6-minute walk – from Surge Homes’ newest condominium community, Hampton Heights.

Fronting Laird and 16th Streets along North Shepherd, Market at Houston Heights will be set to deliver speculative space for tenants in late 2018 with completion scheduled for mid-2019. This 30,000-square-foot mixed-use development with stunning architecture will feature a blend of dining, specialty and retail surrounding a 3,000-square-foot landscaped courtyard area ideal for community events. Combined with the fact it is just blocks from the new Heights H-E-B, Market at Houston Heights will be a primo lifestyle destination for nearby residents as well as visitors from throughout Houston.

“With all the great amenities that already exist in this area of the Heights, we knew the location of our new development, Hampton Heights, would be good for homeowners,” says Louis Conrad, president of Surge Homes. “With the announcement of Market at Houston Heights, that location went from good to great.”

The restaurant and retail offerings at the Market site will join other neighborhood favorites, such as Heights Bier Garten and Balls Out Burger, as well as newcomers Snooze A.M. Eatery and Superica Tex-Mex.

The project’s developers believe the Market at Houston Heights will be an exciting addition to the northern portion of the neighborhood. According to a quote in PaperCity, Anderson Smith of Capital Retail Properties said, “Everything from 15th to 23rd is going to be the sweet spot.”
