After studying urban housing trends from around the world and the local market for millennial housing, a pair of developers from Montreal decided to include 14 micro units in their newest residential project in Midtown.
The developers, from Surge Homes, quickly sold out of their pint-size units of less than 500 square feet and started at around $150,000.
"Houstonians are ready for a smaller, more dense product in order to live in the neighborhoods they like," Louis Conrad, Surge president, said.
Conrad and Surge co-founder Ben Lemieux join Nancy and Allyn to discuss their newest project, the research that went into it and why they only put 14 units in the development when demand was much higher.
