Diplomat Exhibit: Monarch (15-minute walk)
Located within the elite Hotel Zaza, Monarch Bistro offers stylish fine dining to its international guests, as well as Houston locals. With menu items such as Duckfat Sous Vide Chicken and Everything Bagel Crusted Bay of Fundy Salmon, the restaurant is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. It later transforms into a celebrated nightlife destination complete with bottle service and DJs.

As a place that describes itself as "the best Tex-Mex restaurant in the Houston, TX area," Spanish Village has plenty of patrons who agree with that assessment. Houstonians searching for a healthy menu may find satisfaction at Green Seed Vegan. Once a food truck, this café has evolved into a destination for fresh natural fare. The menu features items such as "rockin" tacos, cauliflower nuggets and burgers made with buckwheat quinoa patties. Customers can also wash down their plant-based dishes with smoothies and juices from a creative elixir bar.

Little Bigs has moved a mile south from its original northern Montrose location, making more room for its increasing customer base. Slider choices such as ground beef, pulled pork and buffalo chicken can be paired with Houston-brewed beers or classic shakes and malts.

It's a Caribbean getaway at a Houston-based café. From the same ownership as the celebrated restaurant the breakfast klub, Reggae Hut brings island flavor to its stretch of Almeda Road. This imaginative eatery has Jamaican-inspired dishes like Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat, backed by homemade beverages like ginger beer and sorrel.
