The Craving: Casual American Food and Baked Goods (9-minute walk)

Weights + Measures will quickly become your favorite neighborhood spot to visit. Featuring American favorites such as beer-battered fish, wood-grilled citrus skirt steak and perfectly grilled burgers, Weights + Measures covers all of the bases for lunch and dinner. Save room for dessert because the Bakeshop has it all: muffins, cinnamon rolls, pastries, brownies, bars, cookies, bulk chocolates and more. The café has your favorite caffeine fix, and the bartenders mix to perfection. Reservations encouraged.

Open: Monday thru Friday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for lunch; Monday thru Thursday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. until         11 p.m. for dinner. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Bakeshop and Café are open from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. Happy hour is Monday thru Friday from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

If a bowl of pho noodle soup or bahn mi (sandwich) sounds scrumptious, then head over to Thien An Sandwiches. This popular place offers a robust lineup of Vietnamese fare, including rice dishes, spring rolls, vermicelli bowls and soups, boba teas and more. The décor is minimal but the flavors hit the max.

6 p.m. (Closed Saturdays.)

If Italian food is on the agenda, check out District 7 Pizzeria. Here, you’ll find traditional pies in addition to a long list of specialties (Bison Buffalo Pizza, anyone?). District 7 Pizzeria has plenty of carb-intense fare, from sandwiches and paninis to calzones and cakes, as well as meatballs, dips and wings. Order anything—you’ll walk it off on the way home.

Delicious Thai food is just steps away at Nara Thai Dining Express. Here you’ll find an array of soups and salads, as well as favors like orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, curry dishes, Pad Thai and other noodle dishes, and a host of signature plates. The service is quick and the check will be cheap.
